Yes, Rural Retreat beat Bath County 49-14 for the Region C Championship.

It's strange how some of the results work out.. It's as if the Rural Retreat--Bath Co. score compared to Riverheads shows that Burton has the advantage since they took down the team that beat Bath Co. worse , HOWEVER here's something else to look at:

Burton didn't beat PV as badly as Giles..
Giles beat PV big time..
Giles lost to William Campbell early on in the season..
William Campbell lost to Riverheads in the playoffs..

So in a way that kind of leans towards Riverheads having a bit of an edge.

All I can say is that it's going to be one heck of a ball game!

You should never try to compare teams based on that kind of think Football is a game of matchups. the question will be who will hold the matchup advantage in this game (Any word on what the weather is supost to be like?)

Very true. I wasn't saying that they definitely had an advantage due to those simple statistics, but I was just saying that on paper it'd look as if Riverhead had both an advantage and distadvantage.. but of course it's ALWAYS dependent on how each team performs on any given night.

That might be true, but in considering advantages, you have to consider more than statistics. In the PV/Burton game there was a locality and mental advantage for both teams as well as in the riverheads, giles, and william campbell games. It's easy to compare spreadsheets with several numbers on them, but when it really comes down to the wire, the mental game is what matters. IMO
I personally think that Burton will have their hands full, although it would be nice to see the trophy come back this way though.
